Slight format change this week. We are switching from 1 episode per week to 2 episodes per week. The first episode will continue to come out on Mondays and it will feature Andrew and Dave (or a guest host) talking about the news of the week and giving reviews of 1 or 2 podcasts. The second episode will plop on Thursdays and it will feature an interview with a podcaster or a panel on the last Thursday of the month.
In the news this week: Apple dropped support for all third party podcatchers, and then quickly fixed the “glitch” claiming no foul. In other Apple news, the first company to make podcasts popular has secured a patent on podcasting that is disturbingly vague. Mitt Romney has a podcast now, Andrew and Dave come up with several better ideas for a Romney cast than the actual one. You might have missed it today, but our friends Helen and Olly from Answer Me This were on the BBC radio today making for the most well educated and entertaining cross over from pod to radio ever. The University of Arizona school paper has taken notice of podcasting and makes some great points about the value of free entertainment for poor college students. Finally, our list for the week features some podcasts that are helpful for getting things done and improving yourself.
Up for review this week is a podcast born from the powerful marriage of a parasitologist and a cartoonist that is somehow about really complicated science, it’s the Weekly Weinersmiths.
